Pointe Shoe Tip 'o the Week
Ribbons must be worn with your pointe shoes during class, to support your ankle and assist in proper training. To do it correctly, hold a pencil vertically, just in front of the anklebone, and make a small pencil mark. This is where the back of the ribbon will go. They should be sewn deep into the shoe, almost at the shank. An elastic strap sewn to the sides of the back of the shoe, about one-and-a-half inches apart, will help to keep the heel of the shoe snug against the heel of the foot.
